Elite
Technology Company was founded in 1989 from a family
commitment to the great sport of gymnastics. The
founder, Roger Resley of Kansas City, is father
of three daughters, all competitive gymnasts who
were trained at Elite Gymnastics in Lenexa, KS.
As a Booster
Club parent in charge of scoring, he soon became
frustrated with the hassles of runners, flashers,
and tabulators, not to mention the throng of parents
who complained about missed scores and the long wait
to get results. An
electrical engineer, Resley
figured there had to be a better way.
Working closely with Gerald Carley, owner/coach of Elite Gymnastics,
the two set down to develop the EliteScore system. Using his engineering
background coupled with Carley’s knowledge of gymnastics, the
first EliteScore Scoreboard was built in 1990. Initially an electronic
flashing system only, research began the following year on development
of a PC based scoring program to further automate the scoring process.

The "EliteScore" and "Score
Master" Marriage
At 1992
USAG Congress in Anaheim, California, Resley meet
his future business partner, Mark Mahoney, gymnast
and author of Score Master (www.score-master.com).
Score Master was and remains the leading scoring
software for competitive gymnastics.
The
technologies were married in late 1992 and first
integrated PC scoring and electronic flashing system
was born. Featuring
score entry terminals at the judge’s tables,
scores could be entered directly into Score Master,
validated and recorded, and immediately sent to the
scoreboard! No runners, no flashers, happy parents, and meet results within
minutes of the last competitor!
The
EliteScore System quickly caught on and what started
out, as a club project became a well-recognized product
throughout the USA. Over
the past ten years many improvements and new technology
have been introduced including the Windows version
of Score Master (1996), the first “all wireless” system
with Palm Pilots for score entry (1999), and most
recently an expanded product family including full
alpha-numeric message displays (2001).

Reliable
Products = Happy Customers!
Built
for ease of use and the reliability gymnastics competitions
require, the original EliteScore Scoreboard is still
in operation today! In 12 years, only one service
call was performed: to remove the wires and install
the wireless transceiver!
Elite
Technology Company continues to be the leader in
gymnastic meet automation and is totally focused
on gymnastics. With
over 100 systems installed, Elite Technology plans
to expand features and functions for club level Invitational,
State, and Regional competitions. The
new MDX Series of products will allow rapid expansion
into the High School and Collegiate markets whose
meets require full alphanumeric display technology
for real-time team rankings. |
