50% of scoreboards sold. It’s often a major
employer in your area, a local business who can
benefit from the advertising, or a business who
can sell products in your gym. Soft drink companies
are keen to secure exclusive vending rights to
your gym and will either pay a portion of the scoring
system cost or the entire amount depending upon
length of agreement and cases sold per year. Corporate
soft drink sponsors dollars per gym club have ranged
from $2,500 to $15,000.Pepsi and Coke will fight
for your business, but you have to create a competitive
bidding process! If one thinks they have a lock
on your vending they will do nothing. Work with
your local bottler as they fund the purchase, not
corporate. When you have the Pepsi guy in for a
visit, make sure the diet Coke can is setting on
your desk! |

Sponsors
For your competitive meets, scoreboard owners
should actively pursue meet sponsors. Again local
businesses are prime targets especially fast food
chains, family restaurants, rental car companies,
and hotels that will benefit from the business
your meet visitors will bring to the area.
Typical meet sponsorship fees can range from $250-$1,000
per weekend. The sponsor message can in the form
of banner ads/logos that can be placed on the scoreboard
or electronic messages which can be flashed throughout
the competition, or both. |

Ads
MDX Series scoreboards can be mounted in your
gym and used daily to inform parents, gymnasts,
coaches and staff of coming events and activities.
You can display time, date, and temperature along
with special messages for functions held in your
gym. Birthday party messages are popular can be
sold or bundled in with the party package you sell.
Additionally, seek to sell local businesses daily
ads in your gym. Again, fast food and area restaurants
are typical advertisers who can benefit from the
daily ad runs. Sub shops often pay between $50-$100/month
to advertise their daily special. |

Often a common meet money raiser is the sale of “Good
Luck” or “Best Wishes” for gymnasts
from Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa. Usually
read over the PA or printed in the program, now
with your scoreboard you can now sell animated,
full color text messages to be displayed before,
during, and after a meet.
Typical price charged by clubs is $5.00 for a
single message displayed three (3) times. Over
a typical two (2) day weekend invitational meet,
host clubs can earn $500-$1,000.

additional revenue by charging parents, coaches,
and even gymnasts a text message fee which ensures
text messages of their scores. Typical fees
for this service are $1.00-2.00 per cell phone number. Fees
can be collected at registration time, at the gate,
